Why Radosnica exists
Radosnica is a private digital keepsake for your child's early years — a calm place to save small moments slowly, in your family's own language.
Almost every home has one of those books. Thick, beautiful, bought with excitement before the child is even born. The first pages are filled with care — the name and the story behind it, the date of birth, the first photograph. And then life speeds up. Sleepless nights, work, commitments. The book quietly moves into a drawer. Not because the memories do not matter, but because writing them down demands time and calm exactly when you have the least of both.
We have heard similar stories from many parents. The paper book often stays unfinished, and the space inside it is limited — one line for the first word, one small frame for a photograph. When a family speaks two languages, the book usually offers only one. And when a grandmother in another city wants to add a card, there is no real place for it.
A keepsake that gets filled on the go
Radosnica is a private digital memory book for a child's early years. It is being built as a mobile-first web app, because the phone is always within reach. Adding a memory should be quick enough to do regularly: a date, a few sentences, a photo or a short video. No long forms, no pressure to be perfect.
The book follows the familiar sections of paper keepsakes, while leaving plenty of room for free-form memories and stories that fit no template. This is a keepsake, not a record — not a medical log and not a development chart. It simply keeps.
In your family's language
The interface and prompts are available in Macedonian, English, and Albanian. Whatever a family writes stays in the language it was written in — nothing is force-translated. A grandmother can write in Albanian, a father in Macedonian, an aunt abroad in English. The book keeps every voice as it is, so the child can one day read it exactly as it was said.
The basic book stays free. A family's ability to start, fill in, privately share, read, and download a memory book does not depend on paying. If paid additions ever appear, they will add capacity or features rather than take the foundation away.
What matters to us
- Little and often — one sentence a month is better than a perfect book that never gets opened.
- Every voice is welcome — parents, and invited loved ones too, can each contribute in their own way.
- Private as a rule — the book is not public, and parents decide who sees it.
- The memories belong to the family — everything can be downloaded at any time, so it never depends on one service forever.
The most beautiful keepsakes are not the most perfect ones. They are the ones that actually get filled — slowly, honestly, with the occasional coffee stain on the page.
If this sounds like something for your family, start with a small step. Write down one moment from this week, in your own words. It does not need to be big. It only needs to be true.
